What are the optative sentences?

A sentence that expresses prayer, curses, and wishes are called an optative sentence.

Examples


  • May you live long. ( Pray)
  • May you go to hell ( Curse)

Optative sentences with Pray( Direct and Indirect)

Rules

1. Said or Said  changed into prayed
2. May changed into Might
3. That is used in the place of commas
4. The subject is used after that
5. The first form of the verb is used after Might
6. The preposition For is used after praying if the object is given in reporting speech
