 In this article, I have explained the passive voice of imperative sentences with examples and exercises. I have also explained, how negative sentences convert into passive voice.  I have also given examples and exercises at the end of the article.



The passive voice of imperative sentences

Introduction of imperative sentences

The sentence that expresses orderadvicerequest and the proposal is called imperative sentences. A sentence, in which we give the order to do something or stop somebody to do something, is also called imperative sentences n your mind in order to convert active voice in to passive voice.

Passive Voice of sentences containing the command

Rules

1. "Let "is used at the start of the sentence.
2. "Object" is used after  "Let"
3. Helping verb "Be" is used after "Object"
4. The past participle is used as the main verb after "Be

Structure 

Let + Object + Helping Verb + Main Verb
Let + Object + Be + VIII

  •  Open the door. (Active Voice)
  •   Let the door be opened. (Passive Voice)
  •  Beat him. (Active Voice)
  •   Let him be beaten. (Passive Voice)
  •  Read your book. (Active Voice)
  •   Let your book be read. (Passive Voice)

  •   Let a book be written. (Passive Voice)

  •   Let him be punished. (Passive Voice)

Passive Voice of negative sentences containing the command 

Rules

1. Let is used at the start of the sentence.
2. The object is used after "Let"
3. The past participle is used as a main verb
4.  "Not  be" is used before the main verb( OR)
5. "Don't" is used before the "Let"

Structure 

Let + Object + Not + Helping Verb + Main Verb
Let + Object + Not + Be + VIII 

OR

Don't + Let + Object + Helping Verb + Main Verb
Don't + Let + Object + Be + VIII
